HE Khamis Al Sahouti, Ambassador of the State of Qatar in the Dominican Republic, participated in a press conference organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Dominican Republic in the presence of His Excellency Mr. Miguel Vargas, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Dominican Republic, to announce the decision of the Qatari Government to exempt tourist visa requirements for Dominican citizens.
During the event, which was held at the Convention Center of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, HE Ambassador highlighted Qatar's interest in strengthening bilateral relations, pointing out Qatar's initiatives towards the Dominican Republic, the last of which is to allow its citizens enter the State of Qatar under a free and immediate multiple entry tourist visa valid for a period of 180 days, provided that the stay in the country does not exceed 90 days.
At the end of his speech, his Excellency Al-Sahouti acknowledged Foreign Minister Vargas his willingness to promote ties between the two nations and congratulated him for the achievements that the country has recently achieved, with greater openness and integration in the international community, hoping that this initiative of Qatar serves to promote tourism and will encourage Dominican tourists to attend the Qatar World Cup in 2022.
Meanwhile, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Dominican Republic, HE Miguel Vargas, thanked the Government of Qatar for the gesture of reciprocity, which marks the bonds of friendship and cooperation between the two countries, and that will contribute to the tourist exchange and consolidates the bilateral relations between both countries.
The event was attended by members of the diplomatic corps accredited in the Dominican Republic, senior officials and a large number of media.
