Under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Tamim Bin Hamad Al-Thani, Emir of the State of Qatar, the sixth edition of the Doha International Exhibition and Conference on Maritime Defense "DIMDEX 2018" was launched under the title “A global platform to showcase the latest technologies and innovations in defense and maritime safety capabilities”.

It was organized by the armed forces for 3 days at the National Convention Center of Qatar. «DIMDEX 2018» included four basic events which were «The exhibition, the Admirals conference in the Middle East, the delegations of high positions, and the exhibition of the visiting warships». It also included shopping solutions and opportunities for admirals to learn more about the latest military technologies.

The Dominican Republic was represented in this event by Miguel Peña Acosta, Vice Admiral, ARD. General Commander of the Navy of the Dominican Republic.
