Qatar makes donation to the Commonwealth of Dominica to relief the effects of Hurricanes Irma and Maria

The Non-Resident Ambassador of the State of Qatar in Dominica, H.E. Khamis Al-Sahouti, after his visit to the country, presented to the Prime Minister of the Commonwealth of Dominica, His Excellency Roosevelt Skerrit, a donation on behalf of the State of Qatar to the victims of Hurricanes Irma and Maria, whom struck Dominica in September of this year,  leaving hundreds dead and tens of thousands homeless, the meeting was also attended by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Dominica, H.E. Francine Baron.

For his part, the Prime Minister thanked the Government and the people of Qatar on behalf of their government and their people for this contribution to alleviate the effects of hurricanes Irma and Maria on the island, praising the noble and humanitarian intentions that characterize the State of Qatar in such circumstances.

Hurricane Maria has destroyed more than 90 percent of the island, leaving behind many human lives.

During the meeting, they discussed bilateral relations between the two fraternal countries and the means to strengthen and develop them, as well as matters of common interest.
