Ambassador of the State of Qatar meets with the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Tourism and Urban Renewal of the Commonwealth of Dominica

His Excellency Ambassador Khamis Bati Al Sahouti met with the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Tourism and Urban Renewal of the Commonwealth of Dominica, Ms. Careen Prevost, in the framework of his visit to present his credentials as non-resident ambassador to the State of Qatar in the country.

During the meeting, they addressed issues related to tourism, and the Permanent Secretary expressed her desire to sign a cooperation agreement with the State of Qatar to develop tourism and exchange experiences in tourism rehabilitation and to create tourist sites in order to benefit from the Qatar experience.

His Excellency also expressed the desire of the Commonwealth of Dominica to promote tourism exchange between the two countries and to encourage travel agents to organize tourist trips and provide all the necessary facilities for those who wish to visit one of the two countries and praised the development of the tourism sector in Qatar.

The permanent secretary expressed her desire to participate in tourism forums in Qatar with the objective of discovering the qualities and tourist sites that Dominica has and to organize joint tourist events to promote tourism investment opportunities in both countries.

The ambassador informed the permanent secretary about the latest developments in the current Gulf crisis and the illegal measures taken by the countries of the blockade against the State of Qatar. For her part, the permanent secretary stressed that her country is in favor of Kuwaiti mediation to resolve the crisis through dialogue.

At the end of the meeting, the permanent secretary on behalf of E.S. Robert Tongue, Minister of Tourism congratulated the H.E. Khamis Bati Al Sahouti for his appointment as non-resident ambassador of the State of Qatar to the Commonwealth of Dominica and wished him success in the exercise of his duties, emphasizing the importance of strengthening relations between the two countries in all fields of common interest.
