His Excellency Khamis Al-Sahouti, Qatar Ambassador to the Dominican Republic met with the HE Kelver Darroux, Minister of Information, Science, Telecommunications and Technology of the Commonwealth of Dominica, as part of his visit to present his credentials as a Non-resident Ambassador to the State of Qatar in the country.

During the meeting, they addressed issues related to the field of information and telecommunications and the minister expressed his desire to sign a cooperation agreement with the network Al-Jazeera to take advantage of their experience and training Dominican journalists in the State of Qatar.

His Excellency also expressed his desire to sign a cooperation agreement in the field of science and technology, praising the progress witnessed by Qatar in this area.

At the same time, the Ambassador informed the minister about the latest developments in the current Gulf crisis that began with the hacking of the Qatari News Agency site to the illegal measures taken by the countries of the blockade against the State of Qatar.

For his part, the minister stressed that his country is in favor of Kuwaiti mediation efforts to resolve the crisis through dialogue and understanding.

At the end of the meeting, the minister congratulated the ambassador and wished him success in the exercise of his duties, emphasizing his willingness to strengthen relations between the two countries in all areas of common interest.
