HE Leonel Fernandez, Ex President of the Dominican Republic received at the headquarters of the Global Foundation of Democracy and  Development (Funglode) His Excellency Dr. Hamad Bin Abdulaziz Al - Kawari, Candidate of the State of Qatar for the post of Director General of the United Nations for Education,  Science and Cultural Organization (UNESCO).

During this meeting Dr. Al Kawari outlined the priorities of the programme and the vision of the Mission of the UNESCO in the human being development. Dr. Al Kawari expressed that the objectives and the efforts of the UNESCO should focus more on the support of vulnerable countries to overcome the challenges facing their development. In this sense, the candidate of Qatar emphasizes the importance of unifying the efforts to promote a "New Start for UNESCO".
