HE Ing. Victor Sanchez, Vice minister of Education for Planification and Development in representation of His Excellency Andres Navarro, Minister of Education received at the head office of the Minister of Education of the Dominican Republic, His Excellency Dr. Hamad Bin Abdulaziz Al - Kawari, Candidate of the State of Qatar for the post of Director General of the United Nations for Education, Science and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) and His Excellency Khamis Al-Sahouti, Qatar Ambassador to the Dominican Republic.
During this meeting Dr. Al Kawari outlined the priorities of the programme and the vision of the Mission of the UNESCO in the human being development.
Considering that education is the foundation of all development, which clearly reflects the priorities of his electoral programme. The purpose of Dr. Al Kawari visit to the Dominican Republic is to meet and hear the challenges to achieve a quality education, being one of the pillars of its educational policy.
Dr. Al Kawari prioritizes the efforts of the literacy programmes which from their point of view, is the best initiative that can make a head of a country to its people and whom deserve comprehensive support.
At this meeting Dr. Al Kawari, reiterates that the joint efforts and support for radical reform in the mission of UNESCO is the key to make a way for a "New Era for UNESCO".
