HE Alejandrina Germán Mejía, Minister of High Education, Science and Technology received at the head office of the Ministry of High Education, Science and Technology of the Dominican Republic, His Excellency Dr. Hamad Bin Abdulaziz Al - Kawari, Candidate of the State of Qatar for the post of Director General of the United Nations for Education, Science and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) and His Excellency Khamis Al-Sahouti, Qatar Ambassador to the Dominican Republic.

During this meeting Dr. Al Kawari outlined the priorities of the programme and the vision of the Mission of the UNESCO in the human being development.

Dr. Al Kawari also expressed that science is the engine of all innovation that has an main role in the development of each nation emphasizing the importance of supporting such projects which guarantee sustainable development.

In addition, Dr Kawari praised the advancement of bilateral relations between the two friendly countries, reiterating the support of the State of Qatar to the Government of the Dominican Republic in its policy of improving the quality of national education level, offering the experience of Qatar in this field, which permits to be classified as the quality of education and as 1st place at the regional level in the 4th place worldwide.
