The Conference welcomed the holding of the First Humanitarian Summit in Istanbul, Turkey, in 2016 announced by the Secretary-General of the United Nations during the High-level Debate of the General Assembly in September 2013. 

 
The HOPEFOR Initiative will strive to provide a substantial input into the preparation and implementation phase of the WHS. Participants expressed their appreciation to the Dominican Republic for the celebration of the Third International Conference to further improve the effectiveness and coordination of the use of military and civil defense resources in natural disasters and to provide all necessary support to exit.
