Qatar Embassy in the Dominican Republic celebrated Qatar National Day by hosting a reception attended by a large number of dignitaries, Dominican's officials, heads of diplomatic missions and members of diplomatic corps.

Qatar Ambassador to Dominican Republic HE Khamis Butti al Sahouti, who hosted the reception, said Qatar's foreign policy focuses on the principle of"peaceful co-existence and mutual respect and effective participation in the international community" for maintaining security and peace.

He said Qatar's efforts to achieve the alliance of civilisations through dialogue emanates from its"awareness of the importance of extending bridges of friendship among people and its role in resolving disputes that could arise between the parties that belong to different civilisations and religions".

Deputy Minister of Consultative Affairs at the Dominican's Foreign Ministry said Qatar has proved during a short period of time its abilities to achieve the welfare of its citizens. 

The minister hoped relations between the two countries are enhanced in all areas, contributing to the growth of both the economies.
